Dueltainer Format
Dueltainer Format Rules
Classic Yu-Gi-Oh — duel beyond limits.
- Base rules: Standard TCG rules apply unless changed below. Read the rulebook.
- No modern mechanics: Xyz, Link, and Pendulum are not used. There are no Pendulum Zones and no Extra Monster Zones. (This is because the format is meant for Duel Disk play, but you don't need one to play.)
- No Side Deck.
- Singleton: You may play only 1 copy of each card name.
- Exempt list: Cards on this list may be played up to 3 copies.
- “Treated as” cards (e.g., Legendary Ocean, Harpie Lady 1/2/3) count as their printed names and can be played together.
- Power limits:
- Banned: Not allowed.
- A-Tier: Up to 3 A-Tier cards total per deck.
- B-Tier: Up to 5 B-Tier cards total per deck.
If a card is on A/B-Tier and also on Exempt, extra copies still count toward A/B totals. Example: Destiny HERO – Malicious uses 3 of your 5 B-Tier slots at 3 copies.
- Proxies (TCG-legal only): OCG cards are not legal. Printed or handwritten proxies must include Name, Attribute & Type, full Effect (if any), and ATK/DEF.
- Normal Summon in Defense: Allowed.
- Use current text: Always use the latest errata/rulings (e.g., Chaos Emperor Dragon, Future Fusion). Sources: Errata Wiki and Konami DB.
